The names of these great leaders come among some of the great Indian freedom fighter leaders of India. Like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Lala Lajpat Rai, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Lal Bahadur Shastri, these freedom fighters sacrificed their lives to liberate our country India. And it is for these great deeds of his that even today his name is written in the history of India. Not just what he wrote, but even today every child of the country remembers him and wants to be like him. For many years continuously, these great people faced the British government and freed our country from their slavery. The people of India can never forget his sacrifice.

As we all know that today is Republic Day, and to celebrate this day we have gathered here. Every year on 26 January, this Republic Day is celebrated with joy and pride all over India.
Today, 26th January, has a very special significance in our lives. It is not just a day of celebration, but a testimony to the story of our national pride and struggle. On this day 74 years ago, India emerged on the world map as a republic. A republic that embraced the ideals of liberty, equality, justice and fraternity through the sacred document of the Constitution.
To become a republic and establish legal system in India, the Constitution of India was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 and the Constitution was implemented on 26 January 1950.
The reason behind choosing the date of 26 January for implementing the Constitution of India was that on this day in 1930 (26 January 1930), the Indian National Congress had declared complete independence of India.
There were a total of 22 committees in the making of the Constitution. The most prominent among all these committees was the drafting committee. This committee was established on 29 August 1947. This committee was most important because it was the responsibility of writing the entire constitution of this drafting committee.
This drafting committee started its work under the chairmanship of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. It had a total of 7 members including the Chairman, namely: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar (Chairman), Alladi Krishnaswami Iyer, Kanhaiyalal Maniklal Munshi, N. Gopalaswamy Iyengar, Syed Mohammad Sadullah (representative of Muslim League), N. Madhavrao and D.P. Khaitan.
The process of making the Constitution took a total of 2 years, 11 months and 18 days. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had the biggest contribution in making the entire Constitution, hence Dr. BR Ambedkar is also known as the father of the Indian Constitution.
This day reminds us of those brave freedom fighters who fought tirelessly and made immense sacrifices to get freedom from the British rule. Those great men who challenged tyranny and oppression with the weapons of truth and non-violence. Their bravery and sacrifice are the foundation of our freedom.
But freedom is not only achieved, it is also our responsibility to preserve it. When Dr. Rajendra Prasad ji hoisted the tricolor for the first time on Republic Day, he had a dream, the dream of a strong, prosperous and democratic India. This dream should become the resolution of all of us today.
We should also not forget that our country still faces some challenges. Poverty, unemployment, corruption, social inequality, these are some of the issues which we have to fight unitedly to deal with. It is the duty of every citizen to perform his duties honestly, light the lamp of education, fight corruption and make continuous efforts to make the country proud.
The future of the country depends on today’s youth. You take up the weapon of education, create paths with the power of innovation and make India the master of the world. Convert your dreams into reality and contribute significantly to the progress of this great nation.
Finally, let us all resolve together today that we will not let the sacrifice of our brave ancestors go in vain. We will always be ready to protect the country’s integrity, democracy and human values. Together we will build a powerful, developed and prosperous India.
